For example: Acrobat Reader can be registered for Direct OCR even though it cannot accept text.
OmniPage Pro 14 does not check applications to see if they can accept text when they are registered for Direct OCR. Note: We recommend scanning as grayscale or color.
The following error message may appear when attempting to scan black and white into PowerPoint using Direct OCR: "The source program is busy and cannot respond immediately". For additional information, refer to the user's guide and/or Help menu. What's the fix so I can do Direct OCR of OmniPro 14, from within WordPerfect 12? I need HELP, please!!Īccording to the OmniPage Pro knowledgebaseįor information on using the Direct OCR feature in OmniPage Pro 14, please read the tips below.
My problem is that although I have "registered" (linked) WP with OmniPro in OmniPro's options settings, "Acquire Text" and "Acquire Text Setting" are not being added to the drop-down file menu in WordPerfect as has been the case in previous versions of WP, and I cannot perform Direct OCR from within WordPerfect. Two menu items, i.e., "Acquire Text" and "Acquire Text Setting" are suppose to be added to the WordPerfect File menu when WP is linked to OmniPro through the Direct OCR setting in OmniPro. In previous versions of WordPerfect, I was able to "register" (link) WordPerfect under setup options in OmniPro so that while using WordPerfect I could access OmniPro OCR from the drop-down file menu in WordPerfect.
I have installed OmniPro 14, SP1 as my OCR software to use when I scan long legal documents to edit in WordPerfect for my law office. My Operating System is Windows 2000, SP4.
